You think this is a painfully unrealistic idea. The dog is part of a tutorial to assist you in the realm of your exploration of feelings. It is a manifestation of your intellect's need for organization, fused with your personal insecurities within your inner psyche, taking the form of an annoying guide to help you better explore your feelings, which is, after all, the whole thing that's been going on here this whole time. This was YOUR idea.
